Season XIII - brainstorming

any suggestions, proposals or just thoughts to Season XII?

Season XI with new modus operandi had "just" 73 matches
Season X with old one had 115 matches

should we change anything?

pairings?, price-pool?, schedule/time-table?, responsibilities?

any feedback welcome

new season will probably start at May, 1st
registration will be opened in a week

well personal I was pretty confused with the new system and wasn t alwas sure, what pairings I still had to play :-/

I didn't get meaning of three different stages. Why divide the players in groups based on their current standing in the league, when nothing changes and you play against each opponent the very next stage?

Even though, I cannot say that I don't like the system. But I think I prefer the older one.

I would also preffer the old system. You ever knew against which one you have to play. Now, with the new one its much more work to find a opponent who haven't played all of his matches or isn't playing against someone else. In addition you can choose to avoid the opponents against you might would loose. Thats are some of the reasons why I would be happy to play the next HLL with the old matchmaking system.

I liked the new system, but it needs some modifications. First, stage 1 pods should be random. PPL high on ladder are also more active and thus about to finish more matches in a short time, and getting more points in progress. Then on the next stage, changes are you have already played against many of the players who have got 6 points or more. You could also divide groups by MW% instead of points. Another suggestion is to have three groups instead of two.

Then we need a big table where you put the name of every participant in rows and columns, and match results in formed cells. Google Docs or similar could do, and everybody could edit their own record there.

This is good idea, but i feel we may lose the report of the game, but good idea!

I had more trouble with this league (but also because of my personal time issues), so i can't really say, but if i were to choose, i'd probably go with the pairings coming up weekly, at least for me, i feel more obliged to play them...

The scoring table and the reports are not mutually exclusive, or at least that was my thought. So report matches like before + anyone could edit results to the sheet.
