That's 245 cards total, but I wanted to shave it below 240. The mana is awful with too many CIP tapped lands. I wonder if I should play more land cyclers, Traumatic Visions, Twisted Abomination and Noble Templar are not too bad if you had to hard cast one. I'd propably cut some worse counters and Wraths to begin with. I am open to any suggestions, so if you just think my card choises suck or I am missing something essential, please say so. I won't comment on every card choice, but you can ask me if specific cards are run.

I still wanted to include some cards, maybe Divert, Renewed Faith, Dismiss. Any suggestions on what to cut? I could see Scroll Rack and Teferi's Moat leaving, but I liked to hear other people's opinion.

I went 3-2-1 in a 50-player event with the following 250-card list. I won 5c Goodstuff, BGw Midrange and pyyhttu's Enchantress, drew with Thopter Foundry Combo and lost twice to Ub Control. Card choises made to handle MWS meta did not pay off. The list is going to change again, worse cantrips will be replaced with real draw and things that do something against control decks like Mulldrifter, Teferi and Sculler, maybe Foresee, Dismiss and Complicate too. And add cycling lands now that I have plenty of mana already.

I would suggest:
+careful study (In such a deck you could safrice the cards you dont need)
+repulse ( Like Repeal, better against big creas)
+rune snag ( On Counters everey mana metters)
+Teferi    ( He can control your opponent perfect, and kills 3/3 creas)
+meloku    ( Works good (if not countered) against control and midrange decks)
+temproral isolation  ( With no shadow-crea in your deck it is a cheap removal)
+bribery         ( Works perfect against control)
+compulsion (Cycles away all bad cards)


-Skycloud Egg( You draw the card when you safrice it so this card is bad)
-Darkwater Egg
-Chromatic Sphere
-Chromatic Star
-Relearn ( You must have played already such a good card, and with sorcery speed with is not worth it)
-Diabolic Vision ( Sorcery, and every card remains on top, so you need a fetchland or something else)
-Cremate (Card with no effect at all)
-Dream Fracture(You cant let your opponent draw a card and this counter cost 3 mana)
Throw enough goblins at any problem and it should go away. At the very least, there'll be fewer goblins.

Thanks for suggestions. Teferi I am going to add and Compulsion is under consideration. Repulse and Temporal Isolation compete against other cheap removal, I have thought of Celestial Purge, too. I used to like Meloku but it really has to be late game for it to be good. Rune Snag is doable but Careful Study and Bribery are just awful.

I have misread Diabolic Vision as another Impulse, it is definitely going to be cut. :-[ Spheres and Eggs are going off as I stated, same for Peek variants. Dream Fracture could be cut. I usually dislike counters that cost more than two mana, but you have to make compromises with a 250-carder. Cremate has been fascinating. Althrough its main event is cycling, you will always hit something relevant and often goodies like Loam, Genesis or the target of Regrowth on a stack. Relearn has to be included as it allows you to find Battle with Gifts or Intuition.

Bribery is not awful, in every deck you could get a realiable card, against aggro you could get Exalted angel, or at least Arc-slogger. So here you don`t waste Mana. Agaisnt control you could get Akroma,or Empyrial Archaengel so this card is never useless.
Careful study can repair your hand. When you have anything useless this can help at a very cheap price. Such a effect would cost 6 mana on Compulsion.
I think i would keep Peek and Clairvoyance so that you know what you had to counter and what not. But Sorcerous Sight is worse because of the sorcery speed.
Throw enough goblins at any problem and it should go away. At the very least, there'll be fewer goblins.

Careful Study is a mulligan. It is card disadvantage. It is only good in decks that really want stuff in their yard.

OK; so I went to my local M13 Prerelease, and was a bit disappointed to have as one of the Rares among my six packs... Battle of Wits.

Not very useful for Sealed Deck, but it DID remind me of this thread here, so I decided to take a closer look.

Since it's been OVER 3 years since there has been any discussion here, clearly some cards have come out that might help this deck. Here are some suggestions that I wouldn't mind any feedback on...

Based on the lack of input here, I am assuming that there is little interest in this. Having said that, however, my eldest son (again, he is the family MtG guru) has grudgingly conceded that this deck "is actually not too bad." High praise from him  ;)
