Hello everyone,

My name is Yann, I'm a french guy and just registered on your website. If I post today, it's because I just added the highlander format on mtgtop8 ! I know the webmaster, which helps :)

I discovered your format with a Mtgsalvation thread about Flash Hulk ( http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/commander-edh/forum-1-vs-1-commander-decklists/477271-flash-hulk !). This deck has been legal in Dual Commander during three months one year ago and those two guys who built it linked to a Highlander Grand Prix back when this combo was also legal in Highlander. Too bad these guys didn't made it to the top8 at the Bazaar of Moxen when they came, but my best friend built it and played it with success. In Duel Commander we now have Protean Hulk banned and not Flash, because there was another issue with Protean Hulk in the "Karador" deck, although Flash is strong but not overpowered without Hulk.

First of all, the link to Highlander format on mtgtop8 :

http://www.mtgtop8.com/format?f=HIGH

It's not reachable by clicking on mtgtop8 homepage, and will maybe not be in the foreseeable future, but who knows ? When I started Duel Commander on mtgtop8 it was not on the homepage neither :)

As for now I've added the biggest events (>30 people) and some recent events. I've added some archetypes, but I might have done some mistakes (and/or some obvious misses), so don't hesitate to tell me.

The bad new is that I can't give you the mtgtop8 admin, but the good news is that I'm reactive (and it's easy to reach me via the submit box of mtgtop8 or via this thread). If you feel it's interesting, this is a non-comprehensive list of what I can add :

* local metagames (want to see what's played in Finland ?)
* temporal metagames (want to see how's the metagame evolved after this or that major banlist change ?)
* archetypes that might be missing, etc.

I noticed several errors when copying lists, so if you happen to know some of the original versions of decklists, tell me !

I hope you'll enjoy having your favorite format on mtgtop8, so that you can use features such as compare etc. and hope to hear from you soon,

Yann

Hi, thank you for the effort!

I have one constructive comment: when I tried to acces our highlander TOP8's I clicked on SEARCH, and then I sort of expected, that Highlander will be included in the combo box FORMAT. I can't think of another way to accualy find HL decklists on mtgtop8 otherwise than clicking on the link, you have provided.

Hi,

Yep I know, this is one of the things I meant when saying that Highlander is nowhere accessible from the main page. Maybe if the webmaster thinks it's worth it he will add something, either in the pull-down menu either as a header or like on mtgtpulse via a "More > Commander, Highlander, Pauper..." who knows ?

But first data is needed, then some reviews, then maybe he'll accept to do that :)

Hello,

Now the "Topcards" tool is working properly. You can for example see that, as Maqi showed in his excel spreadsheet ( http://www.magicplayer.org/forum/index.php?topic=895.0 ), Kitchen Finks is the most "non fetch / non Wasteland" played card. Interesting !

You can access it on the mtgtop8 Highlander page, by clicking on the "Would you like to know more ?" link, which leads to http://www.mtgtop8.com/topcards?f=HIGH&meta=89

For the moment, Highlander is still not reachable from the home page nor from the scrolling menu of the "Search" page.

I also created some archetypes, hope it's better like that. Feel free to post Highlander events via the submit box if you think it's a good tool ! :)

After some time, the Highlander format is now available from the homepage of mtgtop8 (Other -> Highlander) !

Now, the "Most played cards" is more convenient (doesn't show the lands on the homepage of Highlander ; you can still have them if you clic on "Would you like to know more ?" if needed).

I didn't update the section since january 2015, but I can do it, if you think it will be a useful tool (you can of course submit events via the submit event page, etc.)

If you're interested, in the future we have the intention of allowing the possibility to administrate some sections of mtgtop8 to "community leaders". If you like mtgtop8, and think it would be more convenient for you to organize your top8 on this site, you would have the possibility to :

* add / remove archetypes
* sort archetypes in aggro/control/combo (no other sub-sections, though)
* add / remove timings for metagames (cf. Post Survival's Ban / Post Mulligan Change)

I know that you're used to mtgpulse, but I really think that mtgtop8 gives you tools you don't have on mtgpulse. Let me know if you think this is interesting, and of course... happy new year !

Hi everybody,

I had some time, and decided to update the Highlander section on mtgtop8 (I chose to keep only the events that had > 10 players). :
http://mtgtop8.com/format?f=HIGH

I hope this will be useful to some of you (at least those who want to check some percentages !).

Now in the future, you can maybe submit events (via http://mtgtop8.com/submit_event ), if you think mtgtop8 is useful. I can also give to some of you the possibility to administrate the Highlander section on mtgtop8, if you're interested.

Have a nice day,

Yann

Maqi

Thank you!!! :) Yes, I would be interested.
