UW Midrange with Sideboard?

Thanks for the effort.

As far as I read the survey, no unbannigs\bannings should take place the next time. On the one hand most of the players are satisfied with the format and on the other none of the cards that could be voted for gathered more than 1\3 of the votes.

- it would be nice, if somebody could send me a copy of this 5c artifacts list. (just pm me)

- I would encourage the Berlin players to upload their FNM results to mtgpulse

I think there is no other local group that publishing decklists more seriously than the Berliners (also nearly every result has been posted in this forum). 16 out of the 26 front page events on mtgpulse are from Berlin. Moreover, Artifact Combo even has its own archetype on mgtpulse (with 2 Top8s on big tournaments)!

And sorry, but assuming that mtgpulse (as the central platform for HL-decklists) is one of the major tools to investigate the HL-meta you haven't done your homework. I know it's only your personal opinion, but I don't get how you can say, that the meta is healthy at the moment without knowing "the meta".

6  MagicPlayer Highlander / Banned List & Rules / Feedback on January 2016 bannings on: 04-01-2016, 01:43:34 PM
Announcement here: http://www.magicplayer.org/forum/index.php?topic=1164.0

The last watchlist changes are somehow confusing to me. During the last banning season the councils statement regarding Tolarian Academy was:

"Tolarian Academy always stays under close observation, as its potential as a key card for non-interactive combo is known.
The game has slowed down with the introduction of the free mulligan and it is not as easy as it was under spoils conditions to sculpt a perfect hand, but with the tutoring power present in the format, building a combo shell around Tolarian Academy is perfectly possible, and we want to see, what kind of new archetype this possibly brings forth. Should it be harmful for the metagame, we have to think again about Academy. The latest developments regarding the Eggs deck demand a reintroduction of Tolarian Academy to the ban watch list."

First of all, you said that TA ALWAYS stays under close observation. Then you also bring up all the good reasons why it should be watched. And last but not least you mentioned the EGGs-Deck. But if you followed the tournament results (Berlin and recently also Erfurt) you should have noticed, that there is also a second, even stronger deck that abuses the TA. Furthermore, the biggest part of the Berlin HL Community is constantly pointing out that this deck is really strong and should be observed.

So, please tell me, why is this card not even on the watchlist anymore? And please don't tell me, that only Berlin has this problem and that they have to deal with this because the meta in other regions don't have this problem. The fact, that a copy of this deck, the first time it was played somewhere else than in Berlin, instantly won the Erfurt Qualifier should at least justify that TA stays on the watchlist.

Especially this decision has caused a great shock and a huge discussions inside the berlin community. And as far as I get it, the B community feels ignored by the HL council.

I think you made a big mistake with this decision and I'm really looking forward to your explanations.

I get your point and - as I said at the beginning - the current council is the best option we've got.

Btw you already gave the right answer to prevent flip/flop situations: Once a card was vote on, it will be banned for votings for x years.

So, regarding to my suggestion:
Let the Community decide what's healthy for the meta or fun/not fun to play against! Let everyone vote for or against academy.

I also don't like all of the bannings, the council did, but I think it's still the best option we got.

Only one idea:
Rather than a democratically elected council (which is in my opinion complete nonsense and some reasons were already brought up here), I would prefer some kind of grassroots democracy (direct democracy).  Instead of a representative democracy, I would like to have the council do the work they already do (unsalaried, don't forget that) and when there are banning decisions they present a list of cards with some statements why the should be banned or not. Then they can just ask the community directly what they want and let them decide. If you want democracy there is no solution which is more democratic than asking the players directly. So for instance, every forum-member with a DCI-number is allowed to vote here in the forum or on an other more suitable platform.

I can't imagine that somebody cares about the Karma-function.

(A new homepage that doesn't give the impression that highlander is dead is considerably much more important.)
